Insurance Coverage
Up to ₦50,000 GIT insurance included
- Every delivery made through Movva is matched with verified commuters who have passed our onboarding checks.
- Senders can track deliveries in real-time, communicate directly with the Movva (delivery partner), and access delivery history at any time.
- In cases of loss or damage, we will work with both the sender and the Movva to investigate and resolve disputes fairly.
- Items with a declare value of ₦50,000 or less are eligible for GIT (Goods-in-Transit) Insurance.
About GIT Insurance
Goods-In-Transit Insurance for Peace of Mind
All eligible deliveries on Movva are automatically covered by our Goods-in-Transit (GIT) insurance policy—up to a value of ₦50,000
Coverage includes:
Theft or loss of insure items while in transit
Accidental damage caused during delivery
Limitations:
Items must be properly packaged and declared with accurate value
GIT coverage does not include prohibited items, cash, perishable goods, or fragile electronics
Claims must be filled within 48 hours of delivery
Note: Insurance claims are subject to verification and do not cover negligence or misuse by the sender or receiver
Delivery Guidance & Item Restrictions
Prohibited Items:
To keep Movva safe for everyone, we do not allow the transport of certain items. Sending or attempting to move any of these items is strictly prohibited:
Weapons, firearms, or ammunition
Illegal substances or narcotics
Cash, cheques, or monetary instruments
Perishable food items or live animals
Hazardous or explosive materials
Fragile electronics without proper packaging
Items over ₦50,000 in declared value
If Prohibited items are found
• The sender will be reported to local law enforcement
• Access to the Movva platform will be permanently revoked
Disclaimer & Liability
Movva is a platform that connects small businesses and senders with verified commuters for deliveries. While we take every precaution to ensure safe and timely delivery, Movva is not liable for:
Any damage or loss of items exceeding ₦50,000 in value
Any undeclared or improperly packaged items
Delay caused by external factors (e.g. traffic, weather or third-party issues)
Deliveries involving items on our prohibited list
Note: Use of the Movva platform implies agreement to these terms. By sending items through Movva, you confirm that the contents are allowed, accurately declared, and securely packaged.
